Some Sprites

Hello All!
I thought I'd post up some sprites from Chicken Bandit and throw in a few miscellaneous ones as well.

Chicken Bandit Notes

I normally scribble down a whole bunch of designs and notes and other stuff when I'm working on a game, but I usually end up losing by the time I am done. For the Chicken Bandit though, I wanted to keep everything together so I kept a notebook devoted to The Chicken Bandit. Now that the game is done, I went through and scanned every page of the notebook, which turned out to be about 30 pages. Here are a couple of my favorites out of the pages.

These are some of the original ideas for designs of the enemies. Some of them made it in the final game and others didn't.

Here's the original design for the map and some of the ideas for the different worlds and things that the player might experience. We were originally going to have some tasks that the player had to complete on the map like getting an item from a level to unlock a new pathway. We decided to cut that aspect of the game since it didn't really add anything interesting to the experience.

Here is a page full of math that makes me looks smart. If you know math, don't look over it because I probably made some mistakes. I was trying to calculate how to get the final boss' arms to move correctly with a joint in the middle, but it was taking to long to get to work so we decided to make the boss a bit simpler.

I like this page the best. It is a checklist I made towards the end of the game for everything that needs to be completed for the game to be finished. Notice how it is titled "Finish the Effing Game 3.0." This is the third version of the list since after the first two were completed, more stuff still needed to be done. There is actually a version 4.0 which is the true final checklist but it is not as long and not as fun to look at. It's nice going back through remembering what it was like to get all of these tasks done.
